Of all the airplanes, helicopters and flight equipment contained within the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, there is one item that stands out above all others: the Spruce Goose. Some 218 feet long and 319 feet wide, this massive wooden plane is the largest of its kind but only flew once, in 1947, before it was grounded permanently. Other planes on display range from the Lockheed SR-71A Blackbird to a Wright 1903 Flyer Replica. Other parts of the museum include an IMAX theater and a winery tasting room, making this massive museum out in quiet western Oregon a truly robust and exciting experience. The museum sits right in the heart of Oregon's Dundee wine area, a few miles outside of town and just north of the airport.
Open daily 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
